In high season, Brenton and his team open the juice bar at the end of the Boathouse’s deck to serve bakes. These are very popular with tourists and locals alike.
What they have on offer each day depends on what they have caught in Brenton’s nets. Obviously, in bad weather it’s not possible to set the nets, so we might have hungry customers!
The freshly-made bakes are stuffed with crisp salad leaves, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, fried plantain, pineapple slices, and mayonnaise. These are topped with shark, fried fish, or succulent langoustines, and finished with the sauce of your choice – garlic, hot pepper, or ketchup.
The finished sandwiches are absolutely delicious and will cost you only TT$70 for fish, $90 for shrimp and $100 for langoustines!!
Heavenly
Heavenly is the name of Brenton’s boat that he uses to catch all those lovely fish! He recently refurbished her and restored her to her former glory. When he’d finished the work, Sharon repainted the name on the side and then locals and visitors alike helped Brenton to relaunch her into the water.
